PMS sells packets and loose goods on the same bill. Rice, lentils and sugar go by the kilo or by the amount of money the customer wants to spend, and packed goods go by barcode.
Turn on selling by weight
- During setup, answer “Yes, I sell by weight” to “Do you weigh out loose rice, lentils or sugar?”. You can change this later in “Settings”.
Set up a loose product
- In “Products & stock”, tap “New product”.
- Under “How is it sold?”, choose “By weight” and the unit (kg or litre).
- Enter the price per kg or litre and the cost price.
- For loose or self-packed goods, you can give it an “Own code (SKU)”, for example CHAL-50.
Sell by weight
- On “Sell”, tap a product marked “By weight”.
- Type the kilos, tap a quick size, or switch to “Enter amount” when the customer asks for a money amount.
- Tap “Add to bill”. The price is worked out for you.
- Add packed items as usual; pieces and kilos share one bill.
Sell with barcodes
- Scan with a USB or Bluetooth scanner, or tap the camera button to “Scan with camera”. You can also type the barcode number.
- Keep scanning one item after another; each one goes onto the bill.
- If a barcode is not in your list, PMS opens “New item — not in the list”. Enter a name and price and tap “Add and put on the bill”. Add the cost price and section later in “Products & stock”.
- If you enter an MRP (printed price), PMS will not let the selling price go above it.
Use weighing-scale labels
If your scale prints barcode labels:
- In “Settings”, switch on “Weighing-scale labels”.
- Match the settings to your scale: the “Prefix” and whether the “Label carries” the weight in grams or the price in taka.
- In each product, put the scale's item number in “Own code (SKU)”.
- Now scanning a label printed by the scale puts the item and its weight on the bill.
